I arrived in Dublin yesterday to work at the adidas Dublin Marathon on Monday. Yesterday was a beautiful day and we spent the day walking around Dublin City Centre, eating incredible meals and touring the Trinity College library and the Book of Kells. I have never seen such old books and the library was just fascinating. We capped off the evening with a pint of Guinness and then made our way to one of the many wine bars here for a bottle of wine.
Today's plan was to go for a long run, shopping and the Guinness factory. The run started off just fine, then the rain began about half way through and then by the end I could barely stand up straight it was so windy. I will gladly run in these conditions today if we can please have beautiful weather and no wind or rain on Monday for the marathoners! I grabbed a coffee and bagel and then Lissa, Tracy and I set off to go shopping on Henry Street. where apparently the prices are not as high as on Grafton Street. We left the hotel and within three blocks were soaked from head to tow so we turned around and came back to the hotel and put on sweats and worked for a few hour. Boring, I know, but we were too much of weather wimps to brave the wind and rain. Even this afternoon as I sip my tea still trying to warm up, it is too cold and rainy to leave the hotel. As long as Monday is better...
